Established in 2003, the Kamloops Islamic Association serves over 400 Muslims in the Thompson Nicola regional district. The organization operates Ayesha Mosque, established in 2007, and provides spiritual, educational, social, burial, and matrimonial services to its community.
Due to its geographical location along major provincial highways, Kamloops is a rapidly growing city. It maintains its small town lifestyle whilst also having the amenities of a larger city.
